January's Icy Slopes

Played live in the studio in 2001 with no overdubs. All instruments except drums are guitar! All two-hand tapping playing a Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup, 'MIDI Guitar', and a Roland GR33 driving numerous rack keyboard modules. The main modules were an E-MU E4 Platinum sampler, a Korg Triton Rack, Korg MS2000R, Roland XV-5080, Roland XV-3050, Roland JP-8080. The clean guitar amps were Mesa Boogies. The drums were Yamaha DT Express.

Ryoshi's Dream

Originally written and recorded in 1980 and re-recorded in 1989. Played live in the studio in 1989 with no overdubs. The guitar was a Steinberger GL4T plugged straight into a Pearce G2r amp with a little reverb.

SpaceTime

Played live in the studio in 2013 with no overdubs. The guitar is a Steinberger GL4T using a Roland GK2 pickup and a Roland GI20, 'MIDI Guitar', driving a Roland INTEGRA-7. The piano part is the guitar. No guitar sounds were used. The drums are Yamaha Absolute Maple Nouveau.

As Birds Fly

Recorded live in the studio in 2002 using a Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup and a GR33, 'MIDI Guitar', driving two Korg Triton Racks. One Triton was tuned up a major fourth for the keyboard sounds. The guitar amp was a Hafler HELLRAZOR preamp and a Mesa Boogie 290 power amp. The drums were Roland V Drums.

Redline

Redline was originally written and recorded in the early 1980s. It was re-recorded in 1989 and again in 2007. The 2007 recording was played live in the studio with no overdubs and is on 'Synthesis'. The guitar is the Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup and a GI20, 'MIDI Guitar',  driving a Roland Fantom XR and a Korg Triton Rack. No guitar sounds were used. The bass was a Peavey Cirrus six string. The drums were Yamaha Absolute Maple Nouveau.

Twelve Stones

Played live in the studio in 2006 with no overdubs. All two-hand tapping on a Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup and a GR33, 'MIDI Guitar', driving a Roland Fantom XR used for the electric piano, an E-MU E4 Platinum sampler used for the Bosendorfer grand piano and a Korg Triton Rack used for the chimes and bells. The guitar amp was a Mesa Boogie. The drums Yamaha Absolute Maple Nouveau.

November Smiles

November Smiles was written in 1991 and was recorded live in the studio in 2001 with no overdubs. The guitar was a Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup and a Roland GR33, 'MIDI Guitar', driving a Korg Triton Rack. The guitar amp was a  Mesa Boogie with a Lexicon chorus and reverb. The drums were Yamaha DT Express.

Lift Your Spirits

Lift Your Spirits was recorded in 2001. The guitar was a Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup and a Roland GR33, 'MIDI Guitar', driving a Roland XV-5080 and a Roland XV-3080. The guitar amp was a Mesa Boogie. The Drums were Yamaha DT Express.

June's Carousel

June's Carousel was written and recorded live in the studio with no overdubs in 2001. All instruments except drums are guitar! The guitar was a Steinberger GL4T with a Roland GK2 pickup and a Roland GR33, 'MIDI Guitar', driving a Roland XV-5080, a Roland XV-3080, and a Korg Triton Rack. No guitar sounds were used. Drums were DT Express.

Ryoshi's Dream Through Asian Eyes

Ryoshi's Dream Through Asian Eyes was written and recorded in 1980. The song was re-recorded in 1989. The nearly sixteen minute song was done in one take with no overdubs and is the version on the Synthesis album. The guitar was a Steinberger GL4T plugged into a Pearce G2r amp with a little reverb. There were no effect, modules, sequencers, or loops used. The drums were Pearl.
